Announcing the 2008 – 2010 Slate for the Board of Directors Nominating Committee

Below you will find the 2008-2010 slate for the Board of Directors. This slate will be put out to the general membership for vote at the summer student sendoff party, tentatively scheduled for late July 2008.

I would like to personally thank the members of Nominating Committee – John DeWolf, Dennis McLaughlin, Ron Kochman, Bob Nagy, and Susan Gresh – for their dedication to our chapter and our university. Putting together a slate of nominees was a sizeable task and one that involved a significant amount of thought, deliberation, and perseverance.

I would also like to congratulate those slated to continue on the Board during the next term. You possess a tremendous amount of talent, dedication, and spirit and I'm sure the chapter will continue to flourish under your leadership.

Are you new to the area and looking for places to go or things to do? Are you planning on attending a concert, a neighborhood festival, an art fair, a museum, or taking a weekend road trip somewhere? Would you like to meet up with some fellow Penn State alums who share your interests?

Make use of the new message forum “Chicagoland Happenings” here on the website. There’s so many things going on in the summer that it would be impossible to try to set up a PSU Chicago-sponsored outing for every one, but if you’d be interested in getting a small group together for any type of event, put a posting on the board. Check back often for new events and updates.

Penn State Chicago Chapter Clothing Available
The Greater Chicago Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association has its own sweatshirts and t-shirts available for purchase. We have navy blue Fruit of the Loom Super Cotton sweatshirts with the chapter logo embroidered in white and light blue. We also have gray short-sleeve Hanes Beefy t-shirts with the chapter logo embroidered in white and light blue. T-shirts are $15 and sweatshirts are $30, plus shipping and handling.
